Perhaps it is fitting that 14 year old Quinn Sullivan should end the summer wowing audiences on the West Coast. After all, his 2013 tour for sophomore album Getting There had an early start with a gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Then the tour kicked into full gear and hit major high notes like an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, press mentions in the New York Times and Rolling Stone (to name but a few), plus a few dozen performances as opening act for Blues legend Buddy Guy at shows all over the country. After his HotShot Debut at number 14, guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan has more than doubled his chart position in just two weeks. Now sitting at the number four position on the Billboard Blues Chart, Sullivan proves once again he can hold his own against the masters of the genre. With his mentor Buddy Guy two spots above (after debuting at number one) and Gary Clark Jr just one place away at number 3, Sullivan is certainly Getting There, as the title of his SuperStar Records debut attests.
