Earlier this year Eric Clapton held his every-three-years Crossroads Guitar Fest in Madison Square Garden with nearly all the big names from the current era of guitar masters in attendance—from B.B.King to the Allman Brothers to Keith Richards, and many more it was a two-night testament to riffs, licks, power chords, and distortion pedals.  SuperStar Records is proud to have two artists who took part in the event—Quinn Sullivan who earned two standing ovations during his set and Les Falconer from Jack Mack Band who played drums as part of The Robert Cray band. Both of their expertise will be on display in the DVD from the event that is coming out November 19th in the US. Sure there’s been mentions of Quinn Sullivan’s album Getting There in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The Boston Herald, to name just a few, but fans have also taken to the Internet to share their responses to the album. We’ve pulled some of the fan comments from his Amazon page to share the buzz. “One of my favorite blues man took Quinn under his wing and I respect him even more for that. Quinn can play and will only get better. I love help supporting this young man. Buy it, he will be around for a long long time. You rock Quinn :-)” “So… can a 14 year old white boy from Massachusetts play the blues? That question almost sounds ludicrous, until you hear Quinn Sullivan. Like Roy Buchanan, he simply has been…born to play. You know the old story about Robert Johnson goin’ down to the crossroads? Well, Quinn went […]

As the 14 year old full-time student and professional musician Quinn Sullivan can easily attest: it’s a long way from his hometown of New Bedford, MA to Canada to New York and Hollywood then back again. The career of this guitarist, singer and songwriter has become red hot in 2013 starting with: signing a deal with the Grammy-winning team at SuperStar Records;  earning two standing ovations at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival at Madison Square Garden; releasing a brand new album, Getting There, produced by industry guru Tom Hambridge; articles in Rolling Stone, the Boston Herald and Boston Globe, and The New York Times; national television performances with the Roots (on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon) and a featured performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, to name but a few. Oh, we forgot to mention, his SuperStar Records debut peaked at #4 on the Billboard Blues charts! When Quinn signed with […]

Justin Kalk Orchestra Joins Superstar Records Artist Roster, Announces Two Upcoming Album Releases Alternative American rocker and noted Stratocaster abuser Justin Kalk and his Orchestra sign with Superstar Records, joining artists Quinn Sullivan (Billboard Heatseeker), the legendary Jack Mack and The Heart Attack Horns, Grammy™ winner Tom Hambridge and the noted tenor, Andrew Morstein. We’re standing in a darkened club in quaint and funky west Philly waiting for Vocalist/Composer/Stratocaster smashing Justin Kalk to take the stage.  The audience is comprised solely of the bar staff, band members from the preceding shows and a handful of their fans – most of which are on the way out the door.  “We’ve never played in Philly before” Justin later informed us. “It’s kinda like how Van Halen got signed”. Tonight’s Orchestra, a trio comprised of bassist Steo Britton and drummer/percussionist Jeremy Williams, storms on stage (oblivious to the paltry crowd) with an […]

Perhaps it is fitting that 14 year old Quinn Sullivan should end the summer wowing audiences on the West Coast. After all, his 2013 tour for sophomore album Getting There had an early start with a gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Then the tour kicked into full gear and hit major high notes like an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, press mentions in the New York Times and Rolling Stone (to name but a few), plus a few dozen performances as opening act for Blues legend Buddy Guy at shows all over the country. And just last night, before the school bells ring once more, Quinn delivered one of his best performances yet as the musical guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. With producer and co-writer Tom Hambridge on drums and the rest of the band Quinn showed […]

Prolific producer, songwriter and performer Tom Hambridge has indelibly left his mark on five albums currently climbing the Billboard Blues Chart this summer, producing four albums, contributing songs to all five and performing on a number of the tracks as drummer and vocalist. It’s no wonder that Hambridge is considered one of the most sought after producers in the business today. After debuting at number one and currently holding strong at the number two spot, is Buddy Guy’s critically acclaimed Rhythm & Blues, a double-disc blockbuster that Hambridge both produced and co-wrote eighteen of the album’s twenty-one songs. Rhythm & Blues features special guests including: Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Gary Clark, Jr. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from Aerosmith. Hambridge worked directly with each of these world-class performers to capture their best. Of Guy, John Parales from the New York Times said: “Whether he’s singing about his mother’s advice or the […]

After his HotShot Debut at number 14, guitar prodigy Quinn Sullivan has more than doubled his chart position in just two weeks. Now sitting at the number four position on the Billboard Blues Chart, Sullivan proves once again he can hold his own against the masters of the genre. With his mentor Buddy Guy two spots above (after debuting at number one) and Gary Clark Jr just one place away at number 3, Sullivan is certainly Getting There, as the title of his SuperStar Records debut attests. To cap off a summer of high profile television appearances, Sullivan and his band will play the closing set on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on August 26th. Consistent with Sullivan’s commitment to including his fans wherever possible he has asked them to tell him which song he should sing from his new album Getting There on his official website, quinnsullivanmusic.com, Facebook […]
