Perhaps it is fitting that 14 year old Quinn Sullivan should end the summer wowing audiences on the West Coast. After all, his 2013 tour for sophomore album Getting There had an early start with a gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Then the tour kicked into full gear and hit major high notes like an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, press mentions in the New York Times and Rolling Stone (to name but a few), plus a few dozen performances as opening act for Blues legend Buddy Guy at shows all over the country. And just last night, before the school bells ring once more, Quinn delivered one of his best performances yet as the musical guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. With producer and co-writer Tom Hambridge on drums and the rest of the band Quinn showed the audience what three minutes and thirty seconds of blues passion looks like on his signature song Getting There.
“Performing on The Tonight Show was a dream come true. It was such an amazing experience that I’m never going to forget,” said Quinn Sullivan after last night’s show. “Thanks also goes to the fans for giving their suggestions for what song I should sing on my Facebook and Twitter and pages.”
If you missed last night’s Tonight Show the full episode can be found here. Quinn also has another two dozen shows scheduled until the end of the year, so he might just be coming to a town near you. Check out his tour dates here.
